Campaign season is almost over and we will soon all be set free from the constant bombardment of political ads. And as we all know, the closer to the election, the uglier and more controversial the political ads become.

However, the most controversial of all political ads is one that you may not even be aware of. It starts with the trusting face of Actor Andy Griffith sitting in a relaxed easy chair. He then begins to explain very slowly how his fellow senior citizens need to be aware of fighting fraud when it comes to their Medicare.

PJI’s Challenge to Health Care Law Moves Forward!

As many of you know, Pacific Justice Institute, an established legal defender of family and faith on the west coast, was the first to file a federal lawsuit in California challenging the new massive Health Care Law as unconstitutional. This lead case in the 9th Circuit has already overcome at least one attempt to dismiss it.

This positive momentum in our litigation was furthered even more when we heard that a federal judge in Virginia recently gave the green light to a similar lawsuit by Virginia’s attorney’s general against the same massive federal health care legislation.

Parents' Rights To Discipline In California

The law has long recognized and respected the rights and duties of parents in the raising of children. The Supreme Court has been consistent in recognizing the importance of respecting Parents authority in the raising of their children. Ginsberg v. New York, 390 U.S. 629, 639 (1968). Furthermore, the United States Supreme Court has stated, "It is cardinal with us that the custody, care and nurture of the child reside first with the parents, whose primary function and freedom include preparation for obligations the state can neither supply nor hinder." Prince v. Massachusetts, 321 U.S.

The Truth About the School Voucher Initiative

State Sues Christian Widows Home

Riverside, CA- The Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) filed a civil lawsuit against Valley Christian Home for using the phrase "Christian environment" in their yellow page ad. The Fair Housing Council of Riverside, who filed the original complaint with DFEH, compelled DFEH to transfer their complaint from the DFEH Commission into the Superior Court of Riverside County.

Major Victory for Home Schooling!

It's official. Students in California can go back to school this fall without having to leave their homes. And they have friends like you to thank.

On August 8, in a reversal of its earlier decision, California's Second District Court of Appeal upheld the right of parents to home-school their kids. The court deferred to the state legislature, which has allowed home-schooling to flourish in the state with few restrictions.
